Summer Vacation Meal Plan

Summer Vacation Menu

Summer Vacation MenuIn July of this year, my family of four will be traveling to Panama City Beach, Florida for a family vacation. As we all are aware, vacations can be quite expensive by the time you pay for your lodging, traveling expenses, food, and entertainment. When you are on vacation, there are really only a few ways to cut your costs and that is by limiting your activities or saving money by not eating out. Since the purpose of a vacation is to spend time with your family doing fun activities, I always choose to reduce our vacation expenses by not eating out too often.

With that said, I’m going to show you how I plan on feeding my family of four at the beach for five full days. I would give you a dollar figure for how much this meal plan will cost, but as we all know, food prices vary based on the location and time of year. If I was going to be making this menu using my local grocery store (Aldi), I would say that it would be around the $150 mark.

This summer vacation meal plan will include a daily menu, recipes, and shopping list for five complete days. You may notice some repetition, but I don’t want to waste food, nor do I want to pack a lot of food back home with me. I also want to say, before I go any further, that the condo we rented has a fully equipped kitchen and a grill to cook on outside. Please be sure to check your vacation rental’s accommodations prior to arriving to ensure that you will be able to prepare your meals.

The kitchen supplies that you will need for this summer vacation meal plan are as follows:

Aluminum Foil
Baking Dish – 9”x9”
Baking Sheet
Can Opener
Colander/Strainer
Cutting Board
Griddle
Grilling Utensils
Kabob Skewers
Knifes
Mandoline (A knife will work, but this gadget would make it so much easier)
Measuring Cup
Measuring Spoons
Mixing Bowls – Small and Large
Mixing Spoons
Parchment Paper (I bake my bacon in the oven on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, if you want to fry your bacon, you do not need this item)
Pot – Large
Skillet – Large and Small

If you are in need of any of these items, please be sure to check out No Question Dinner’s Kitchen Store!

I will also let you in on my little secret of how I plan on saving even more money… Instead of buying all of my seasonings that are needed to prepare these meals, I’m going to take them with me. These items do not take up much room and it will save me from having multiples once I return home. The seasonings that you will need for this vacation meal menu are: seasoned salt, salt & pepper, cinnamon, dried parsley, dried basil, dried oregano, and garlic powder.

Below you will find the recipes for the items on the menu, with the exception of the pancakes, bacon, tater tots, baked potatoes, sausage links & patties, garlic bread, celery & carrots, grilled steak, and baked sweet potatoes. All of these items can either be prepared according to their package instructions or prepared how you would normally make them for your family.
